Main Menu / Home Screen

The main menu (or home screen) is designed as a dashboard of sorts. A launchpad which provides access to all the main areas of the system, a well as a clean slate to show important organizational information you may want to see throughout the day.

There are several possible design ideas presented, each on their own slide. Look through them and decide which best suits your design style. You can then delete the slides you choose not to use. One suggestion is to place a copy of the original slide control off to the side of the layout in case you want to choose a different design in the future. In general, as you alter the system, keeping the original layouts saved somewhere or keeping a copy or backup is a good practice.

For the overview of this layout we will reference the below image, but all interface designs have the same basic areas.

  1. Home Button: Here only this does nothing, for consistency sake the button is here, but since it’s purpose is to take you to the home screen, which it does on all other layouts, here it has no net effect.
  2. Settings: This gear shaped button will take you to the settings screen.
  3. Pop-up Menu: This will pup up a navigation menu. The setting for this are covered in the settings help screen.
  4. Contact – New: This button will create a new blank contact and take you to the contact detail screen.
  5. Contact – Find: This button will take you to the contact detail screen and place you in find mode.
  6. Contacts: This button will take you to the contact list screen if your current contact found set is greater than one and if it is just one, to the detail screen.
  7. Organization- New: This button will create a new blank organization and take you to the organization detail screen.
  8. Organization- Find: This button will take you to the organization detail screen and place you in find mode.
  9. Organizations: This button will take you to the organization list screen if your organization contact found set is greater than one and if it is just one, to the detail screen.
  10. Invoice – New: This button will create a new blank invoice and take you to the invoice detail screen.
  11. Invoice – Find: This button will take you to the invoice detail screen and place you in find mode.
  12. Invoices : This button will take you to the invoice list screen if your invoice contact found set is greater than one and if it is just one, to the detail screen.
  13. This is a graph of all the invoices for the current year. Since the system is unlocked you can change the data represented by editing the “Home.GetInvoiceSalesData [ { year } ]” script.
  14. Slide Control: This slide control allows you to scroll through the various home screen design options.
  15. Back/Forward Buttons: These button will take you back and forward in layout navigation just like the similar buttons in a web browser.
